Richards believes Manchester City will benefit after transfer ban is cancelled

 

Former Manchester City star Micah Richards believes his former club will benefit from the fact that their transfer ban has been voided by the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The Cityzens were banned from participating in European competitions for the next two seasons after UEFA claimed that they had breached the FFP guidelines.


However, the Cityzens appealed against the punishment at the Court of Arbitration of Sport and the verdict came in their favour earlier this week. Speaking to Sky Sports, Richards said that the Cityzens will breathe a sigh of relief following the court decision and they can now focus on extending the contracts of the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and manager Pep Guardiola.

Toni Kroos dismisses the prospect of joining Manchester City

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has dismissed the possibility of a reunion with manager Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. The 30-year-old is regarded as one of the finest German midfielders in history and he has been an influential player for Los Blancos since his move from Bayern Munich nearly six years ago.

In a report covered by Goal.com, Kroos was asked about his future and his response was quite clear. The German highlighted that he would prefer to remain with Los Blancos for the remaining three year of his contract, he told: “I definitely plan to be with Real for these three years. Sterling says City can have successful season without league title

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has said that the Citizens are on course for a successful season despite the fact that they have not been able to compete with Liverpool for the Premier League crown. Jurgen Klopp’s side have been in splendid form throughout the top-flight season and they are currently on course to win the league title with a number of games to spare.


Speaking in an interview, Sterling acknowledged that the Citizens were not consistent enough in the Premier League and credit must go to the Reds, who have been by far the better team in the division, he told: “The Premier League, the bread and butter, fair play to Liverpool they have been better than everyone. I wouldn’t say we gave up – we weren’t consistent enough for long enough. We didn’t purposely give away the title.”
